Xilitla

Located between hills, with steep streets, some cobblestones, make Xilitla a different place in the Huasteca The ex-convent of San Agustín, built in 1557, is the oldest Hispanic building in Potosi territory. Áxtla de Terrazas

Surrounded by fertile agricultural fields irrigated by the RIVER AXTLA, this town has nooks and crannies very nice to swim and enjoy a field day. City Valles

The so-called “Big Door of the Huasteca”  It is the most important city in this region and has all the services. The National Fair, between March and April, includes agricultural and livestock exhibitions, as well as artistic and cultural events. The museums Tamuantzán and the Huasteco Region offer a historical-cultural vision of this area.

At municipality the waters of MICOS invite to recreation and adventure; in the eight waterfalls of the river, also called PAGO PAGO, you can practice jumps; grotto of LOS SABINOS exhibit underground wonders and the RESERVE ABRA OF TANCHIPA is ideal for ecotourism.

 

Tamuín

For a huasteca archeology trip, nothing better than the municipality of Tamuín. The amazing area of ​​TAMTOC offers an extensive tour of pyramids, foundations and sculptures, such as Monument 32, an outstanding feminine representation of art Mesoamerican CONSUELO is smaller than Tamtoc, but is still considered as “the capital of the Huasteca empire”. Aquismón

El Naranjo

This is another municipality whose waterfalls are your best letter of introduction. The one from EL SALTO, with 70 m of height, in times of rains it forms beautiful and deep pools of green-turquoise. There you can camp or stay at the small hotel Las Cabañas, which only gives service in holiday seasons. A few kilometers down from EL SALTO there is a lookout next to the road from where you can enjoy EL MECO, 35 m, which is not favorable to swim. And heading to Ciudad Valles is MINAS MINES, with a waterfall of 5m that forms turquoise pools.
